Relumination has a long history of working with SanMar with their property management group, Lake Washington Partners. Since 2018, Relumination has worked to upgrade distribution centers in Florida, Ohio, Minnesota, and New Jersey. SanMar, founded in 1971, has always placed a great value on sustainability and improving the impact they put on the planet. Knowing that their distribution centers consumed a lot of electricity and generated a lot of hazardous waste, they sought to improve the lighting and their carbon footprint.
Solution
Energy-hungry and maintenance-laden fluorescent fixtures were replaced with LEDs that incorporated smart controls within the warehouse areas. Within the warehouse areas, light levels were improved by as much as 50% in some areas creating safer and healthier working conditions for the 1000+ people that work at each facility. Office and exterior lighting was replaced with LEDs which consume up to 80% less energy and last 20+ years.
